Anyways, onto the main story in today’s news. (Well, OK… second main story. First main story, yes, 7 is underway. I’ve been having serious problems juggling things, and as you can clearly tell, I’ve dropped the ball on this one. I’m getting things rolling again, though.) With all those other release groups out there releasing Hi10P releases, you’d swear that it’s as if a new, hyper-concentrated form of sugar hit the markets and was being used in candy everywhere. :p Worry not, though! We’re jumping on this bandwagon with great enthusiasm!
That’s right, folks! If you thought that having your mermaids being subbed in 2011 wasn’t enough, it’s now getting done in 10-bit glory!

Doll asked me to throw in some clarification, too, regarding the file sizes. In short, the astute observer would notice that these files are the same size as the normal, garden-variety h264 releases. Do not be alarmed, this is intentional. In his words, he’s encoding “to a target bitrate versus quality.”
What’s that mean? Going back to our sugar analogy, you’ve got a gallon of sugar dissolved in water, and a gallon of high-fructose corn syrup. They’re both a gallon, but one is… more sugary? Something like that… you get more sugar buzz. 😉
It should go without saying, but I asked the question anyways. Yes, these Hi10P releases were produced directly from the raw/lossless video (as compared to being produced through a lossy in-between like the XviD or h264 releases). As I said, it should go without saying, but it never hurts to clarify the obvious. If you immediately know the candlelight is fire, then the meal was cooked a long time ago.™

Hi, I just downloaded and played some of these new Hi10p releases. I found blocking/distortions i.e. blue background of opening song. not to mention throughout each episode but not everywhere. It reminds me of bit-starved avi’s in the old days. I know your source is good. I have your previous six releases in avi and they are fine. Don’t know if limiting the size setting is cause or not. I use CCCP Package dated 9/9/9 with MCP-HC included.
You’ll need at least the 7/30/2011 release of CCCP. I’m surprised that the 9/9/2009 package actually worked….
It works but playback bogs down on some HD releases. I tried to upgrade to CCCP 10/10/10 package to work with FAVC 109 from CCCP 9/9/9 Package with FAVC 107 but only one of the two Haali Splitters would engage and I need both to burn in soft subs of mkv into video for archiving. I downloaded DmonHiro’s first episode of Dororon and it had issues but it may not be a good 10p example since it it a BITRATE HUNGRY BD 720p. I will try to find a closer 10p example to the ones above.
Licca’s Pollyanna Episode 3 is 10p with the same resolution. It also had some blocking-appearance issues but were less severe:background colors not solid and steady. DmonHiro’s, on the other hand, looked like a rainbow fantasy land. He probably has the 10p plus high bitrate for BD 720p. In the past, 720p and 1080p only affected playback display(CPU) but not reencoding. However, after making several reencodes(hardsubbing) of the episodes above, 10p affects both. For display of 10p, I guess I will have to upgrade the CCCP software.
CCCP Package dated 7/30/11 restored not only ability to display 10p correctly but also the ability to reencode them with FAVC 1.07 cleanly. P.S. Thanks Wasurenai for the episodes to this series.
