Les Miserables Shoujo Cosette 44 and 45 released!

Les Miserables Shoujo Cosette 44 and 45 released!

Okay, everyone here is Les 44 and 45. Hitting you with a double release! Didn’t want to leave you guys in suspense. Anyways, these episodes are gonna be pretty tough to watch. Also, since he is shown right at the beginning of episode 44, this is not really spoiler. Here’s a note: In the novel, Gavroche dies as well. So the scenes he gets are just filler really. There were a good amount of things that were changed for the anime version of this series as to make it more family friendly. One is Cosette’s mother that was shown back in the beginning of the series. Everything is pretty much right, just they didn’t mention she became a prostitute to save her family and others. Thus, catching that STD that killed her earlier in the show. There’s more stuff as well. If you want to know more, just read the novel. Or if lazy, ask doll-licca or asairo lol. There more into the novel than I am. Plus, they probably do a better job at explaining stuff on this show. Either way, we’re getting close to the end. So please enjoy as we almost close this series out finally. Also, sorry about the earthquake signs. There not really in the way that much thank god bit still sorry about that. As always brought to you by by us and Licca-fansubs.

One tiny nit-pick in addition to the huge THANKS for doing this series, and doing it so well: Fantine actually dies of some kind of lung disease. She has a persistent cough, which gets worse after Bamatabois puts snow down her back. That’s not really clear unless you read the book, and then I think all that’s really said is how her cough gets worse and worse until she ends up in the hopsital. Off to watch more eps!

I think you’re right about that. Her symptoms would have been consistent with tuberculosis or pneumonia. I think syphilis could cause secondary lesions that would result in coughing as well, but I’m not altogether sure about that, since I’m not a doctor.

Doll: The craziness she had can be caused by syphilis, but it usually takes years before that happens.
Webb: Thus makes it why she went crazy so quick.
Maybe it was a mental thing?
        Loss hope?
        Doll: Probably.

So yeah, I’ll have to do a reread here. But the bit with Gavroche is right.

Definitely the stress of not having Cosette affected her mental state, along with the delerium a high fever made Fantine pretty delusional in the book. The doctor who tends to her cautions Valjean against giving her any surprises or shocks, she’s that weak. She’s also complete dumbfounded that the mayor would help her, this being such a stratified society with so much determined by social class. When Valjean and Javert are arguing over whether she will go to prison or to the hospital, the book says that it seems to her almost like two gods are arguing about her, which is completely overwhelming.

Thanks soooooooooooooo much by the way (Just in case I havn’t already made myself clear). It believe it says in the book that the weakness in her chest that she obtained from nursing Cosette grew into a cough and that it kept getting worse untill Bamatebois threw snow down her back and that’s what caused her fever. Her immune system was already weakened you see. In the musical it’s implied that she died from an STD. Don’t quote me on any of this as I don’t have the book on hand as I write this.

Hi. I just want to say thank you for subbing these. I really enjoy this show. I have seen the play in theater and read the book. Seeing how the anime series is interesting to me. Please keep up the good work.
