Of all the weird caricatures in this series, casting Darwin as a gay robot strikes me as the strangest.
But what was that reference the characters seemed to find so obvious?
Well, I’m not too sure about the gay part but as for him being a robot, it’s pretty easy to understand. Darwin proposed the theory of evolution (Look in Anyamal) and the future of humans are usually taken to be an era of machinery. So the creators could be hinting that the evolution of humans would be to become more dependent on robots. (This is just some mindless rumbling.)
